This chapter contains information on family characteristics of the total DOD force based on DOD active-duty and selected reserve family data. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve families are not included in this section. All of the data referring to dependents (i.e., spouses, children, and adult dependents) are extracted from the Defense Enrollment & Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Dependents who are not registered in DEERS are excluded.
This visualization presents 2022 data on the total DOD force family status based on active-duty and selected reserve members. The visualization can be manipulated by using the filter drop-down options to select desired criteria.
