Chapter 6: Reserve and Guard Families
This chapter contains information on the family characteristics of Reserve and Guard families, including spouses, children, and other dependents of Reserve and Guard personnel. Special areas of emphasis include family, marital, and parental status of Reserve and Guard families; spousal age, gender, and employment status; and number and age of children and other dependents. All of the data referring to dependents (spouses, children, and other dependents), except for spouse employment status, are extracted from the Defense Enrollment & Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).Dependents who are not registered in DEERS are excluded; therefore, the data are likely to be underreported.
